RCMP officers to transition into a navy-blue uniform

RCMP officers across the province will be transitioning to a navy-blue uniform as part of an effort to help modernize the uniform.

However, the RCMP is reminding the public that officers may still wear the previous grey uniform shirts for the foreseeable future, meaning officers could be seen wearing either the grey or blue shirts while on duty.

The RCMP added that it understands that seeing a new uniform colour may cause confusion to the public. If you have any concerns about the identity of the police officer you are interacting with, the RCMP say you can ask the officer for identification, or contact the RCMP non-emergency line.

Officers will start to transition to the new uniform on August 15.
