The Canada Day fireworks will be taking-off at the Legion Field this year.
The city says the Canada Day celebration will conclude with the annual fire works display, at 11:30 p.m., with the fireworks set to launch from the Legion Field area.
The city added that the reason for the relocation comes from a fire safety review, that is based on current conditions and aligns with the City’s FireSmart principles and community risk reduction planning.
“Safety is always our top priority when planning large public events,” said Fire Chief Mark VanWerkhoven. “We thank the public for their understanding and cooperation and encourage everyone to join the event at the new location where we can enjoy Canada Day fireworks while providing the separation and safety measures needed to protect spectators and the surrounding parkland.”
Designated viewing areas and limited parking will be available near the Legion Track.
