GPFD respond to Friday morning fire in Crystal Ridge

Grande Prairie Fire Department are investigating the cause of a structure fire in Crystal Ridge, Friday morning.

The GPFD say that at approximately 8:30 a.m., on Friday, May 29 crews responded to a structure fire in the Crystal Ridge neighborhood. When crews arrived, they found a shed on fire that was quickly spreading to two homes, officials said.

Fire crews immediately knocked the fire down, limiting damage to just the exterior of the threatened homes. Only one of the homes was occupied at the time and that person was woke up by neighbors, who had noticed the fire and called 911.

The cause has yet to be determined, as investigators are continuing to find the origin and cause.
