$15K handed out to local minor hockey associations

Local minor hockey groups walked away from last weekend’s Hometown Hockey Tour with more than just memories.

On Saturday afternoon, Scotiabank presented a total of $15,000 to three minor hockey associations in the area – $10,000 to Grande Prairie and $2,500 each to Clairmont and Sexsmith. Local branch manager Shaun Bennett was on hand to give out the big cheques, the funds from which will be used to carry out the groups’ regular programming.

The Grande Prairie PeeWee AA Boston Pizza Knights were the winners of the Cheer Like Never Before contest, earning them a set of new hockey sticks and a chance to win an NHL experience.
