Grande Prairie flips into Stompede week with free pancake breakfast

The City of Grande Prairie will kick off the 2026 Grande Prairie Stompede with a free community pancake breakfast.

City officials said the breakfast, to be held at H.A. Rice Plaza at Bonnetts Energy Centre, gives residents and visitors a chance to gather, share a meal and meet members of council at the start of a busy week.

Mayor Jackie Clayton said city council is looking forward to connecting with residents and visitors who come out to celebrate the Stompede.

“The Stompede is a special time in Grande Prairie. It brings our community together and showcases the spirit that makes this region what it is,” Clayton said.

The city said the event supports council’s goal of strengthening community connections and quality of life by offering a welcoming space for people of all ages to take part.
The event will be held May 27 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Parking will be available in the east, west and south lots.
