City of Grande Prairie to host Youth Career Discovery Expo on Thursday

Youth in Grande Prairie will have a chance to explore different career opportunities that are offered in the Peace Region on Thursday.

The Youth Career Discovery Expo is aimed to connect teens and young adults that are 14 to 30 years-old, with employers and training organizations in the region. Throughout the day, young people will have the opportunity to explore career pathways, learn about education and training opportunities, and speak directly with professionals about what working in different industries looks like.

“The Youth Career Discovery Expo is about building relationships and opening doors for our youth,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “When local organizations share their experiences and passion, it gives young people the confidence to explore new paths and see a future for themselves right here in our community.”

The expo will be taking place at the Bonnetts Energy Centre on May 7, from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
