Grande Prairie Enforcement Services reminds motorists around the window tint law

Grande Prairie Enforcement Services is reminding the community to educate themselves on the rules around window tint.

As part of the reminder, they mention that tint is not permitted on the front windshield, or on any of the front-seat windows. However, they say the tint is allowed on rear side windows and the rear window if the vehicle has both left and right side mirrors.

“These rules are in place for safety,” says Peace Officer Sergeant Ryan Hoffman. “Clear visibility is essential for drivers to see pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles, particularly in low-light or poor weather conditions.”

If you are unsure whether their vehicle complies within the regulations, you are encouraged to check with Grande Prairie Enforcement Services before making any modifications.
