Family Day weekend activities set for across Grande Prairie

A wide-range of family fun activities are set to take place around Grande Prairie this Family Day Weekend.

On Sunday, Feb. 15th, the Eastlink Centre and the Design Works Centre, will be free of charge to the public from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The free activities include free drop-in skating at the Design Works Centre and free swimming at the Eastlink Centre.

The Eastlink Centre will be offering more than just swimming during the day, as a number of different activities will be offered. In the Fieldhouse, you can expect to see; games, inflatables, an eSport game lounge, treat decorating, a craft corner, snacks, and prizes. There will also be an inflatable obstacle course in the 50-metre competition pool.

Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton says New-Horizon Co-op played a noticeable role in making these activities possible.

“Family Day brings people together in simple, meaningful ways. By offering free activities for all ages, we’re creating an opportunity for families and neighbours to share time, feel welcome and enjoy community life,” Clayton said.

For more information about the activities, you can check out the City of Grande Prairie website.
