Rotary Club of Grande Prairie celebrates 75 years in the community

The Rotary Club of Grande Prairie is celebrating 75 years of community service in 2026.

On Wednesday, Jan. 21st, many members involved with the Rotary Clubs gathered to celebrate the milestone with a ribbon cutting.

President of the Friday Rotary Club, Patricia Gibson, has been with the Rotary for just over 10 years. Gibson says the ribbon cutting on Wednesday was a “great ceremonial kickoff,” to the 75th year.

Gibson says during her 10 years, it has been incredible to see the group grow even bigger.

“We are always looking for service opportunities, our members come forward with projects and ideas. We’re a club that makes things happen, we’re just going to continue to grow.”

Gibson mentioned that they have a number of legacy projects that are currently taking place, and that they are always looking for more.

“It’s pretty remarkable to see the club grow our initiatives, collaboration with community groups, It’s really quite remarkable.”

The group was formed back in 1951.
