You can take part in a Pathways to Education community learning session that shares information about local education, funding and skills-development resources.
The session is geared toward newcomers but open to anyone seeking practical information to support decisions about school, training and long-term career planning. Participants will have the opportunity to speak with local experts, ask questions and learn about the supports available in Grande Prairie.
Presenters at the session include Northwestern Polytechnic, which will outline program options, admission requirements and upcoming intakes; Grande Prairie Council for Lifelong Learning, which will describe English language learning and community-based education opportunities; Service Canada, which will share information about the Registered Education Savings Plan and federal grants to help families plan for post-secondary education; and the Northwestern Alberta Foundation, which will discuss scholarships and awards available in fields such as sports, nursing, environmental studies, emergency services and trades.
The Pathways to Education community learning session is open to adults, youth, teachers, school staff and employers who support individuals exploring education and training options.
The free, in-person session takes place Wednesday, Dec. 17 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Northwestern Polytechnic.
