Spirit Tree will be lighting up Browns Social House this holiday season

The Spirit Tree will be back at Browns Socialhouse with hopes to raise money and support families in need this holiday season.

The Spirit Tree that stands over 20 feet tall, was first introduced in 2017, where it first stayed at Browns Social House. The tree then moved over to a different location for a few years, but it is back at Browns for 2025.

The goal of the tree is to aim for as many donations as possible to help families in need across the Peace Region, donations are done through four different ways; being a ribbon sponsor ($5,000), a tinsel sponsor ($2,500), a corporate steel ornament ($1,000), or buying a small ornament for $25.

General Manager of the restaurant Andrew Adams says that 100 per cent of donations goes right to helping out those in need.

“Being involved in the creation of the tree, one of the things we’ve always been proud of is that all of the costs to build, maintain, and operate the tree are borne by our partners in the community. The Spirit Tree Society, along with Browns, Russell Metals, Aztec Engineering, and Becker Transport, all donate their time and materials to make The Spirit Tree one of very few fundraisers where 100% of your donation goes directly to helping local families in need.”

Since not having the tree back on the Browns patio since the program started, Adams says they are very excited to have it back.

“We’re really excited to have it back, it’s beautiful to come on out and see it in the evening, it is certainly eye-catching.”

If you wish to donate, the tree still has one $5,000 spot left, and plenty of ornament spots remaining.
