Thieves break in to rural community mailboxes

Thieves are again targeting community mailboxes in the Grande Prairie region. RCMP say there have been at least two new reports of mailboxes being broken into in the rural area since Christmas.

If yours has been broken in to, you should report it both to police and Canada Post. If the person responsible is caught, they could face up to 10 years in jail on Theft of Mail charges.

Residents are encouraged to check their mail regularly and pay attention to what could be missing. Anyone with info about these thefts is asked to contact the local RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers.
