Teens arrested after break ins at Crystal Heights schools

After reports of break ins at two local schools, police have arrested two teens.

Just after midnight Sunday, a break and enter was reported at Holy Cross Catholic School. As RCMP searched the scene with a police dog , they heard about another break in at IV Macklin Public School nearby, where security officers saw two young men running away.

After an extensive search, Mounties were able to find one of them, and Police Dog Services found the other shortly after. 19 year old Preston Yellowknee has been charged with break, enter and theft. The other suspect is a youth from Grande Prairie, but his name isn’t being released.

Both will appear in court in the New Year.
