30 month sentence for Cutbank shooting

There has been another guilty plea in the June 2014 shooting death of Devin Pisch. The 27 year old’s body was found in the woods of the Cutbank staging area after reports of shots fired.

Two men were initially arrested, but RCMP couldn’t charge them with anything murder-related. One of them, Jerrid Rychard, plead guilty to drugs and weapons charges earlier this fall, earning him a four and a half year sentence.

A preliminary hearing for Gregory Decker was supposed to start Tuesday, but instead he plead guilty to two of his six charges. Based on a joint submission, he’s received a 30 month sentence for pointing a firearm and possession of a weapon while prohibited. He’ll get credit for 16 months time served.

45 year old Thomas Sutton of Tumbler Ridge was recently charged with second degree murder and will be back in court on December 7th.
