A Grande Prairie man is facing fraud charges after alleging trying to take out money from a bank pretending to be someone else. Police were alerted by staff on Friday, but when they showed up, the man ran from officers. He was caught after a short foot chase.
Since then, RCMP says Steven Zane Gauthier is part of five other investigations dating back to May 29th of this year. He’s been charged with 15 offences, including fraud, theft under $5,000 dollars, possession of stolen property, identity fraud, and possession of a forged document, along with obstruction of a peace officer.
Gauthier is still in police custody and has a court date set for Tuesday.
