Record haul for Rotary Food Bank Drive

Grande Prairie can keep its title as having the Largest Rotary Food Bank Drive in Canada. Last Tuesday’s event brought in 85,000 pounds of food and water, 26 per cent more than last year.

More than 120 teams of 600 plus volunteers went door-to-door in beautiful weather, reaching across Grande Prairie, Sexsmith and Clairmont. The September drive is the biggest of the year for the city, and is essential to keeping the Salvation Army food back going through the holiday season.

Anyone whose house was missed, or who still wants to donate can drop items off at the Salvation Army Service Centre on 102nd Street and 97th Avenue.
