Block party takes over downtown Grande Prairie this Friday

The second annual Experience Grande Prairie will take place later this week, with a pair of Canadian musical talents taking centre stage to help celebrate all things swan city.

Spirit River’s double platinum-selling, Juno Award-nominated country music star Aaron Goodvin and Juno Award-winning singer-songwriter Barney Bentall and his band will hit the stage at 7 p.m. for a free all-ages concert on 101 Avenue, and that’s just part of the entertainment on tap for a full day of festivities.

The block party, which kicks off at 3 p.m.., will also include food trucks, a beer garden, vendors, face painting, and various workshops including mixology, and lasso skill demonstrations.

Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton says they’re excited to welcome the community to the heart of the city for the return of Experience Grande Prairie
