The wildfire danger in the Grande Prairie Forest Area is being listed as high. Alberta Wildfire says a fire advisory also remains in effect for the forest area thanks in large part to hot, dry, and windy conditions.
Existing fire permits for the Grande Prairie Forest Area are still valid. Users are being warned that they may be suspended or cancelled if dry conditions continue. New fire permits will still be issued on a case-by-case basis
This means any burning without a valid fire permit, other than a campfire, is prohibited. However, things like safe wood campfires, backyard fire pits, and portable propane fire pits are still allowed.
