Sturgeon Lake Complex considered under control

Nearly a month after forcing the first evacuation, the fires that make up the Sturgeon Lake Complex wildfire are considered to be under control.

According to Alberta Wildfire, as of Thursday, June 1st, both fires are 5,752 hectares and 3,869 hectares in size.

The Bald Mountain Fire, which is 19,435 hectares in size, continues to be classified as being held. Residents who live in the area are being reminded those who are not authorized to be in the active fire perimeter need to remain outside the perimeter.

The fires which make up the Eagle Complex between Fox Creek and Little Smoky are still considered to be out of control and are estimated to be 73,479 and 55,344 hectares in size.
