Smoky River Bridge opens later then originally planned

The Smoky River Bridge has reopened months later than originally planned. According to Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors, the Highway 43 bridge reopened on March 28th, after having the deck replaced and structural improvements and cracks on the girders repaired.

Work on the bridge was originally planned to be completed by the fall of last year. The delays are said to have been caused by issues with the scope of the rehabilitation work, and troubles getting materials due to supply chains.
