Illegal alcohol sales in Cadotte Lake

Police have busted two people for illegally selling alcohol in Cadotte Lake. Peace Regional RCMP found 82 bottles of liquor in a home in the Woodland Cree First Nation community Thursday.

They would be worth around $1,250 on the street. Two people were arrested at the home and charges are pending.

Staff Sergeant Brent Meyer says cracking down on the illegal sale of alcohol in the First Nation is a priority of Chief and Council, along with the Community Consultative Group. Residents committed to the health and success of their community were reportedly instrumental in the RCMP investigation.

Anyone with info on illegal alcohol sales is encourage to contact the detachment or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
