County fire ban lifted

A fire ban is no longer in effect in the County of Grande Prairie. Fire Marshal Ken Atamanchuk says the recent rain has allowed for it to be lifted.

As it’s still fire season, permits are needed for all burning like recreational fire pits and burn barrels.

A fire ban remains in place for much of the rest of northern Alberta, including the City of Grande Prairie. The wildfire hazard in the Grande Prairie Management Area is moderate with no current active fires.
