Drug trafficking cell shut down by ALERT in Grande Prairie area

ALERT has made yet another major drug bust in the Grande Prairie area.

$9,000 worth of cocaine and heroin, $30,000 in cash, and four vehicles have been seized through traffic stops and the search of a home in Wembley on November 13th.

Sergeant Jason Gibson hopes hitting the drug dealers in their pocket books will cripple their operations.

“These individuals were involved in certainly selling cocaine and heroin to end users in Grande Prairie and area, so we’d like to think that we’ve dismantled them, but follow up with release on bail conditions will be conducted by our unit to make sure that they’re staying away from conducting illicit activity.”

The cash and vehicles, which included a Hummer, two Dodge Ram pick ups, and a Nissan Titan, will be handed over to Alberta’s Civil Forfeiture Office.

The money will then go towards community policing initiatives and supporting victims of crime.

Three men from Wembley –  20 year old Kyler Schwartz, 21 year old Evan Silzer, and 23 year old Francois Muhire – and one from Regina – 28 year old Jeffrey Stuart – are facing drug-related charges.
