Toastmasters Lunch Rappers celebrate 25 years

The Grande Prairie Lunch Rappers Toastmasters Club is celebrating 25 years in the community. President of the Club Patricia Curtiss says the group has had many members over the years who have gained opportunities through the club.

Grande Prairie Toastmasters runs three clubs in the city including Kakwa and Innovative Thinkers. The invitation is open to anyone who would like to join any of the three.

“It is absolutely for anybody. The more diverse the people sitting at the table, the better the club and stronger the club.”

She adds that anyone from business leaders to people that just moved to Canada can benefit.

“I have seen a lot of benefit for newcomers. It gives people an opportunity to speak more.”

Curtiss says they work on communicative skills as well as leadership skills weekly.

The club meets at city hall at noon on Wednesdays.
