Mental Health 101
Tamy Monro (she/they/them) is the Resource Coordinator for the Resource Centre for Suicide Prevention. Her background is in Psychology/Human Services and comes with lived experiences in mental illness and mental health. A huge part of her role is public education where she is able to start conversations around mental health, stigma, and how to have those tough conversations because we know that the more we talk about mental health the less stigma there is around it.
Mental Health 101 is a presentation created by the Resource Centre for Suicide Prevention in response to the need for increased awareness and education around mental health and suicide prevention in the community.
RCSP has been delivering training, education, and programming to the region since 1982. This presentation is designed to increase your understanding of mental health and how it relates to you, as well as how to provide support to others. Knowing potential signs and the resources available can help you create safe work environments to assist those who may be struggling.
