Peace region wearing pink in stand against bullying

Schools and businesses across the Peace region will be sporting pink today in support of a national anti-bullying campaign.

Pink Shirt Day was inspired by two Nova Scotian teens who stood up for a younger student who was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to class.

Albertans are being encouraged to take photos with their friends and colleagues wearing pink and share them on social media with the hashtag #albertapink.

The Encana Events Centre in Dawson Creek is taking part for the second year in a row, and has challenged other businesses to do the same and sign a anti-bullying pledge on their website.
