The Golden Age Centre has withdrawn it’s request for a new facility.
The 40 year old facility, which is owned by the city, was hoping earlier this year to start fundraising towards a new building.
The current location is lacking in handicap accessibility and parking, and doesn’t have a lot of space to incorporate new programs like Zumba and floor shuffleboard.
After completing a needs assessment survey, the GAC decided instead to focus on maintaining their current facility and working with what they have.
