Two separate vehicle collisions in the Fort St. John, B.C. area yesterday within 50 minutes of each other resulted in five fatalities.
The first involved two pickups in a head on collision at Mile 83 of the Alaska Highway.
When police arrived, all people in both vehicles had already succumbed to their injuries, including a 22 year old female and male working in the area in one vehicle, and a 71 year old male and 65 year old female in the other vehicle from Saskatchewan.
Less than an hour later, a 29 year old male driver died at the scene of a single vehicle crash on the Clayhurst Road.
The cause of both incidents is still under investigation.
