Crosslink County Sportsplex ball diamonds unusable this year

Rainy weather and the big storm that blew threw in June has left the ball diamonds at the Crosslink County Sportsplex in Clairmont with damage.

The County says during the large storm on June 15th, the tops of the dug outs had fallen off. The moisture from that storm as well as moisture continuing throughout the summer has made the fields unplayable. The grass on the fields has also been reseeded multiple times but there will be no games played there for the remainder of the season. The school baseball diamond in Clairmont is being utilized for games.

Last May the fields were approved for renovation to make the rugby fields that were there into senior men’s ball diamonds. The Wheatbelt Baseball League’s Grande Prairie Brewers were set to use the fields as their home base for the season but continue to use the Rycroft fields for their home games.

The County says they are hopeful for a better season for the field next year.
