Trial date set for one accused in truck theft and kidnapping

A trial date has been set for one of the people accused of stealing a truck with an infant in the back seat.

22 year old David Michael Smith has elected to a trial by provincial court judge, but has not yet entered a plea.

He and 26 year old Keisha Horseman are facing various charges including kidnapping, theft of a vehicle and abandoning a child after the February 25th incident.

They and a 14 year old from Edmonton were arrested after the stolen truck was spotted south of Grande Prairie.

Seven month old Addison was found in her car seat on the front step of a home.

Smith remains in custody awaiting his November 3rd court date.
