Residents reminded to move their cars as snow clearing resumes in two county neighbourhoods

The County of Grande Prairie’s snow removal crews will begin residential snow clearing in two areas on January 21st.

Residents living in the neighbourhoods of Whispering Ridge and Westlake are advised to keep roads clear from parked cars to allow crews to complete their work.

Officials are reminding all county residents that whenever digital “No Parking” signs along streets are visible, temporary parking restrictions are in place and street parking is not permitted between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

The county maintains that throughout the snow season, vehicles left on the street when a parking restriction is in place may be ticketed and towed.

Residents are also reminded that piling snow onto roadways is illegal and could result in a fine as it can slow the snow-clearing process while creating a traffic safety hazard.
