Police in Sexsmith are investigating an incident involving a child and a man in a truck. RCMP say it happened Monday around 4:30 pm on 98 Street, when a black truck pulled up beside a 9 year old girl and asked her to get in.
The girl ran from the truck towards the front door of another house in the neighbourhood. The lone man in the truck then turned around and drove away.
The vehicle was black with a red and orange fire decal on the black gate above the license plate. The man driving is described as being somewhere between the ages of 40 and 60 with grey/brown hair, bangs, and wearing a black hooded sweater with the hood up.
RCMP are working to find the truck and identify the driver. Parents are encouraged to talk to their children about staying away from strangers and reporting suspicious activity.
