Gladys Blackmore running for Grande Prairie UCP nomination

Gladys Blackmore is seeking nomination for UCP candidacy in the Grande Prairie riding.

Blackmore is a sitting Grande Prairie city councillor, a decade after her initial run on council from 2001-2010.

Blackmore says she has always been interested in provincial politics, and is determined to sit at the table and represent the people of the Swan City.

“I am encouraged to see some significant issues coming from the provincial government, such as healthcare reform. Those kinds of reforms need someone at the table who is not afraid to speak up, to appoint, and not afraid to ask for change.”

Blackmore says she has the experience and capability and is ready to bring change to the city and to represent the UCP party in the May 29th provincial election.

“I have always been interested in politics and different roles in my everyday life. Given the length of time I have served at the city council, I am very much encouraged.”

People in the constituency of Grande Prairie who hold a UCP membership can vote to nominate one candidate on April 3rd. Also running are Nolan Dyck, Larry Gibson, and Tayyab Parvez. Incumbent Tracy Allard is not running for reelection.
