The City of Grande Prairie is hosting a public input session as part of its 2023 Budget Engagement on September 27th. Residents can join members of council and city administration from 5 to 8 p.m. at Centre 2000 to learn more about the budget, ask questions, and share their feedback on values and priorities for the upcoming budget year.
“Our annual budget engagement is one of our most significant community engagement projects every year,” says Mayor Jackie Clayton. “Hosting these sessions is key to fostering engaging relationships, to build a strong, connected community. We look forward to connecting with our residents, sharing information about our budgeting processes, and hearing directly about what our community’s priorities are for the upcoming budget.”
Engagement activities at the event encourage residents to share their thoughts and ideas on questions about their vision for the future of Grande Prairie, the services they value most, and how theyu suggest the city balance the need to operate with fiscal responsibility while providing quality services. The event is open to all city residents.
Opportunities to share feedback online are also available at engage.cityofgp.com/budget2023 until September 30 and include a survey, a balancing act tool to learn how the city’s operating budget is allocated, an idea space to share answers to brainstorming questions, and a Q&A space to ask administration questions about the budget.
All feedback from the in-person session and online tools is presented to council ahead of budget deliberations in November.
