A severe thunderstorm warning is now in effect for the County of Grande Prairie near Sexsmith and La Glace. Environment Canada says meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, nickel to ping pong ball size hail, and heavy rain as of 7:56 p.m.
It is located near Webster and is moving southeast at 30 kilometres per hour.
Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
