UPDATE: Organizers have postponed the event in the hopes of putting it on in 2023.
Youth from across the County of Grande Prairie are invited to build their best soapbox cars with the help of regional firefighters. This, as part of the first annual Whispering Ridge Soapbox Derby set for next month.
Build Days for the 24 cars will take place on September 17th and 18th at the Clairmont Fire Station with race day running September 22nd on 102 Street in Grande Prairie.
Entry is $150 for the entire event, with materials provided on site for the build. You can find more information, and links to register for the event here. The Whispering Ridge Soapbox Derby is being hosted by the County of Grande Prairie Firefighters Charitable Foundation.
