The trail near the Bear Creek Dam will be closed for up to three weeks as routine maintenance on the half-century-old structure begins Thursday.
The City of Grande Prairie says, in addition to the maintenance and a bit of vegetation upkeep, it will also be installing new lighting along the primary pedestrian pathway and staircase, as well as building a new path to access an improved pedestrian lookout at the bottom of the spillway.
The entirety of the maintenance is expected to take until at least November before completion.
