Construction on a three-metre wide asphalt trail along the gateway is now underway.
The City of Grande Prairie says work on the path along the north side of 100 Avenue from 110 Street to 108 Street and along the west side of 108 Street from 100 Avenue to 107 Avenue began Wednesday, and will last until the end of September.
The trail is being installed to enhance what the city calls its “active transportation network”, and will create more pedestrian connections and expand the accessibility across the city.
Drivers near construction zones are being asked to be mindful of all signs and speed limits.
