Wednesday temperature sets heat record in Grande Prairie

The extended heat wave in Grande Prairie continues to break records.

According to Environment Canada, the mercury rose as high as 32.1 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, July 27th, smashing the previous highest recorded temperature of 31 degrees Celsius set in 2020.

Wednesday was also the hottest recorded day in Grande Prairie in 2022, beating Tuesday’s then record 29.2 degrees Celcius.

Environment Canada is forecasting higher than average temperatures, which is 22 degrees Celcius, until Monday.
