Peace Regional RCMP seizes drugs, cash following month-long trafficking investigation

A Peace River area man is facing several charges after Peace Regional RCMP seized a large quantity of drugs from a home in the County of Northern Lights.

Police say the month-long investigation into drug trafficking in the region came to a head on July 14th, when they executed a search warrant on a vehicle and the house, with help from several units including Grande Prairie ALERT.

As a result of the search, police seized 55 grams of cocaine, more than 200 MDMA pills, nearly nine kilograms of marijuana, 75,000 contraband cigarettes, more than $60,000 in cash, and a taser.

A 26-year-old from the rural Peace River region is charged with several offences including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon.
