The Grande Prairie area could see wind gusts of up to 90 kilometres per hour Sunday. Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for the Grande Prairie- Beaverlodge – Valleyview region.

As of 8 a.m., the Grande Prairie Airport recorded wind gusts of 54 kilometres per hour. They were as strong as 78 kilometres per hour in the 4 a.m. hour.

The strong winds come as the region shifts from extreme cold to much warmer than normal temperatures which have caused flooding from snow melt. On top of those poor road conditions, drivers are urged to ve prepared to adjust their driving due to high winds.
