Regional volunteers honoured for their work in 2021

The Grande Prairie Regional Association of Volunteer Organizations has handed out more than a dozen awards to those in the community who went above and beyond to help their fellow residents over the past year.

Volunteer of the Year went to Sandy Richardson, while the Royale LePage The Realty Group was named the Corporate Volunteer of The Year.

Meanwhile, Clifford Mitchell, Kory Gravengard, Randy Zieglgansberger, Sexsmith and Area Foodbank, Starbucks #4838, Brenda Screen-Thompson were named 2021 Oustanding Citizens in the Community.

In the Leaders of Tomorrow Category, Erin Pelé and Charla Savoury were named Advocacy Award winners, with Kieara Hommy and Jeremy Larter taking home the Leadership Award. Tinodaishe Pfupa and Emily Soto took home the Perseverence Award, with Locklan Okimaw-Keels and Kayla Humphreys winning the Volunteer Award.

The George Repka Outstanding Achievement Award was awarded to John Boyle and Joseph Redhead, while The Salvation Army of Grande Prairie received the Bill Bowes Volunteer Organization of The Year Award.
