Local law enforcement is shifting gears with their monthly Selective Traffic Enforcement Program, turning their focus to young and distracted drivers for the month of May.
There are operations planned for the next month to crack down on those not giving their full attention to the road, and as well to encourage young drivers to work hard at establishing responsible driving habits.
The Bylaw Enforcement Education Program meanwhile will focused on reminding drivers to secure their loads with tie downs or tarps to prevent anything from falling onto the road.
Officers will continue to enforce seat belts and speed limits, which were the focus of the March and April campaigns.
