Two Peace Region communities are getting provincial grants to reduce their risk of damage from future floods.
The Town of Peace River has received $2.3 million for repairs to Pat’s Creek culvert to contain flood waters.
Meanwhile, the Town of Manning has received $270,000 to replace some failed water and gas lines and protect them from any future earth movement.
Overall, more than $70 million has been announced as part of the first round of funding for the Alberta Community Resiliency Program.

16 municipalities that were most impacted by the 2013 floods or face a significant future flood risk are included.
