The community is remembering longtime resident Roy Allen Bickell.
Bickell, who spent most of his 84 years living and working in and around the region, passed away on Saturday.
Alongside running his family’s homestead, Bickell also worked for Canfor for 37 years, including a stint in Vancouver when he was Director of Forest Product then as President and Chief Operating Officer.
He also served on the board of the AGT through it’s amalgamation into what is now Telus.
After returning to the Peace Bickell was heavily involved with the Pipestone Creek Dinosaur Bed, and collected one of the largest private collections of fossils, which has been donated in full to the Philip J Currie Dinosaur Museum.
