Grande Prairie curler asked to join Team Canada rink for Brier

A second hometown curler will be on board Team Canada at the Tim Horton’s Brier next year.
Tom Sallows has been asked to play as fifth for the John Morris rink, which already includes Carter Rycroft.

Sallows says he says he has known John Morris for quite a few years, but it is a big honour for him to be asked to curl with the team.

“I can’t thank him enough for that opportunity. Then, going forward, we’re training for a week beforehand and all that, so I’m going to learn a lot from that, and I just hope I can do whatever they need done to be as successful as possible.”

Sallows says he has been curling for about 15 years now, but this will be by far the highest level of competition for him to attend.

Also playing for team Canada this year: Pat Simmons and Nolan Thiessen.
