Federal Government to spend $60,000 improving accessibility in the Peace Region

Public transit in Grande Prairie as well as several public buildings in Hythe and Sexsmith will soon be more accessible for those with disabilities.

$59,400 has been released from the Enabling Accessibility Fund, money that will in part fund the implementation of an Automated Voice Annunciation system for Grande Prairie city buses.

The system visually and audibly announces upcoming stops for riders.

The town of Sexsmith is receiving $19,329 to install automated door openers and sensors to the Library, Civic Community Centre, Town office, Arena and Curling Rink.
