The City of Grande Prairie has named a new Chief Financial Officer. Danielle Whiteway officially took over role on November 20th. She says she can’t wait to get started.
“I’m very excited to take on this responsibility; I have a fantastic team in finance here so just excited for some future plans just with our budgeting and reporting and moving forward to better inform the public and council on a regular basis.”
Whiteway started with the city in April 2018 and currently manages the finance department. She says the position used to be a role in the corporate services department but was moved.
“[It’s] just a shift from that position being formally with the corporate services director and moving it in with the finance department where the expertise is.”
With her background in finance for the city, she adds she feels very comfortable to take over the role.
