Seven Generations Energy leaving budget unchanged

While some oil companies like Canadian Natural Resources and Suncor are cutting jobs and spending, Calgary-based Seven Generations Energy says it will be leaving its 2015 budget as is.

The company, which has a strong presence in the Grande Prairie region, still plans to spend 1.6 billion in the Montney area this year, despite falling oil prices.

Vice President of Corporate Planning Chris Law says other energy companies stepping back could mean cost savings.

He also adds that they have $80 million for land purchases and $150 million budgeted for outside their core area that could be deferred if needed.
