You know them from the BodyBreak segments and the Amazing Race Canada, but soon Hal Johnson and Joanne McLeod will be making their way to Grande Prairie.

The Canadian fitness icons will be in the Swan City on Valentine’s Day for the BodyBreak Walk for Heart, a fundraiser for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Area Manager Margaret Bell says the event is really about promoting the fact that 30 minutes a day of physical activity can change your life.

“It doesn’t matter whether you walk for 30 minutes a day or you swim or you go to a gym; just get active. Make it part of your life; make it a priority in your life, because we know it can make a difference in how long you live.”

After a presentation by the BodyBreak duo, they’ll join residents for a half hour walk or run on the Eastlink Walking Track.

Anyone who raises more than $250 in pledges by February 11th can also take part in a celebrity breakfast earlier in the morning.

The day will also include autograph signing, door prizes, and a trade show.

Registration can be done through the Foundation or on the event’s Facebook page, with a minimum $50 pledge.
